The responsibility of a police officer to his nation and loved ones is tested.

April 2016, Kuala Lumpur: TEMUAN TAKDIR, the first film by Zazen Design & Production Sdn Bhd, has successfully brought together new talent to produce a thrilling, action-packed, police movie. The film is now in cinemas in Malaysia.

A movie with subtle yet powerful messages of duty, love and the deep bond of brotherhood, TEMUAN TAKDIR is the story of two dedicated police officer brothers, ASP Tuan Roslan and Inspector Shariff. They intelligently pursue the ‘Mastermind’ behind a security van heist. The investigation leads them to a three-man gang; Omar, Faisal and Vikram, whose plans get rattled by a series of unexpected turns, as each has his own hidden agenda. As the police chase intensifies and the clues lead them closer to solving the crime of greed, the inevitable ‘Takdir’ or fate makes its call and each must meet it.

TEMUAN TAKDIR is more than a romantic or action movie; it gives viewers an insight into the lives of police officers who are vulnerable beneath their uniforms of ‘steel’.

Tuan Roslan, played by accomplished actor-director, Dato’ Zahim Albakri, is a senior police officer married to Ain played by Vanidah Imran. Roslan has his ever-watchful eyes on his brother, Shariff, who is young and enthusiastic but impulsive. Ery Zukhairi plays a lead role as Insp. Shariff who is about to propose to Ros acted by Azura Zainal. The popular TV personality makes her debut in the Malay movie scene. First-time Director, Dhyan Vimal, also makes a cameo appearance as a key witness to the crime.

The film was recorded at both fascinatingly beautiful and secluded locations within the Klang Valley. The thrilling police chase action scenes were shot around Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and the Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers. Some parts were shot at hidden locations such as the motocycle tunnel lane below Bulatan Pahang near Pekeliling. The film also gives viewers a look at the new Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah Sentul, Masjid Wilayah, a state-of-the-art hospital and an abandoned house in Sentul. These unique locations proved to be excellent choices on camera. First-time Director Dhyan Vimal has shown his cinematographic and technical skills in this directorial debut.

This movie is supported by Friends to Mankind under its Project Dignity initiative, which empowers many individuals to learn life skills. Project Dignity involves mentorship programmes, internships, practical training and workshops in various fields of work and areas of expertise. It is a worldwide initiative.

Under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Sultanah Kalsom of Pahang, the red carpet Gala Premiere and Private Screening of TEMUAN TAKDIR will be at Gold Class Signature @ The Gardens on Monday, 8 August 2016.

‘Project Dignity’ is a global project by Dhyan Vimal, the Founder-Chairman of Friends to Mankind.

Born in a small fishing village off the East Coast of Malaysia, Dhyan Vimal was exposed to the rich tradition of apprenticeship from a young age when he went to learn martial arts from a Malay Pak Guru named Pak Wan. At a time when many rejected him, Pak Wan looked at him and said, “I’ll take you in and teach you.”

During his seven-year apprenticeship with Pak Wan, apart from martial arts, Dhyan Vimal says, “I also learnt how to be a good human being. He transferred discipline. I learned a lot of skill that is what I’m using now.”

Over the years, Dhyan Vimal has done the same to those whom he cares about and those he chooses to work with. He transfers skills to them with the promise that they too will transfer it to someone else.

The making of TEMUAN TAKDIR was just this. When Dhyan Vimal ended up directing and producing this film, he opened doors for many to be part of it. It is a Malaysian movie with good morals. This movie is unique. It’s fifty percent experts, fifty percent amateurs. In its making, each artiste and crew member came forward to give their best. There was apprenticeship and transference of skills.

The Director-Producer, Dhyan Vimal says, “I have an investment investing in them. My investment is I’m creating a better world through them. ‘Project Dignity’ is providing that chance for them to pick up a skill, to earn a decent living; more than anything, to have a skill to contribute to this world. Again, I’m trying to break the feeling that you’re a squatter or a parasite. This is my world, and I’m going to do something about it. Dignity is when you know what you have to offer. It’s human sovereignty. It’s the pride of me being me, the pride in being a participant of this world.”

“A movie needs movie elements. You cannot shoot it like a documentary. It should be entertaining but beneath it all there’s a beautiful message all throughout. First of all, we humanize police; they are people too with wives and children. The next thing, it talks about how things can happen to us, bad things happen to good people. You can be the best person and something bad can happen. This is a film with a powerful message and investment into people, which also has love, mystery, intrigue, murder … That’s TEMUAN TAKDIR,” adds Dhyan Vimal, the Director-Producer.

The whole motto behind Friends to Mankind is ‘To do what you can from where you are’ and it offers a platform as a support for anyone who has a personal project. TEMUAN TAKDIR which opened doors to many to be a part of it is a film supported by Friends to Mankind under its ‘Project Dignity’ initiative.
