The non-profit Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (JCF) is organising its third charity recital on 22 August 2015 (Saturday), with the theme “A Night of Musical Kaleidoscope – From Bach to Yiruma”. Led by Malaysian-born Eugene Pook, the recital features an international ensemble of 12 gifted and outstanding musicians, including the clarinet soloist Andrew Simon, to perform at the newly refurbished Sunway University Hall. The Sunway University Ensemble, which has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 2008, will also perform with the international ensemble during the finale, under the guidance of Rockie Siew.

All proceeds will go towards the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation Community Scholarship, to benefit marginalised youth from economically challenging circumstances or who have been placed in homes or orphanages due to dire family circumstances. Since 2002, we have awarded 144 JCF Community Scholarships amounting to RM6.5 million, and in 2015, we welcomed 20 new scholarship recipients to pursue studies in Sunway University and Sunway College. The JCF scholarship recipients have gone on to take their place in society and have contributed as mentors and role models to the new recipients each year.
